The 8GB models will be available for $599 and 16GB ones for $699 are now available from AT&T and Apple stores. You can buy from AT&T but it requires you to be an existing AT&T customer, and limited at one per, while you can go to Apple stores and buy it as many as you wish, and you don’t have to be an existing customer as well. But still, I think $699 is a bit costly for a phone, but, when you compare iPhone with other phones from other manufactures like Samsung Omnia or anything else which lies in the same range, $699 seems pretty reasonable.
